PICAXE-40X2

I do some general electronics consultancy work for a company that sells electronics kits to schools in Australia. One of the kits they sell is a Robot Arm with Controller. They recently used the last of their old Picaxe-40 chips and purchased replacements that are now Picaxe-40X2. I did not design this kit and the person who did is no longer contactable. I have designed a number of Picaxe projects in the past, but they were for Picaxe 08M2 and 14M2. I was asked to program a number of... Read more

BBEdit plist for PICAXE basic

In the relatively unlikely event of anybody using BBEdit (the default Apple Mac code editor) to edit PICAXE code, I have a PICAXE language plist for it that provides similar code colouring to PE6, if anyone would like a copy.

GSM modules

Has anyone done anything lately with GSM modules and picaxe? I did a search but gsm is too short a search phrase and google only came up with a thread from 2013 so wondered if anyone had got any further or is it too big a project for picaxe? I'd quite like to make something for remote monitoring of battery volts and temperature but no idea where to start, it would be in a non wifi area so that option is out.

Sanity Check of a program written by AI

Following on from this thread https://www.picaxeforum.co.uk/threads/tying-c-5-high-instead-of-low.33515/ I have asked AI to write me a program to add a calibration method for the servo settings. could someone please look at it and make any comments please. Thank You in advance From the AI chat Assumptions this code uses C.2 = servo C.3 = point lever input C.1 = UP from calibrator C.4 = DOWN from calibrator C.5 = calibration enable input C.0 = ESP-01... Tying C.5 High instead of Low

This is my controller for my Large Scale model Railway servo driven points. In the Black diagram it can be seen that C.5 (pin2) is tied to GND via a 10K resistor. This works well but the fine tuning of the point blades (the bits that move) is not working. I needed another way to calibrate the blade position so that the servo moved the blades to their full travel. I consulted AI as I am not really that good at writing picaxe code and it suggested a "calibrator box" that could be plugged into... Read more
