My wife drives a 2020 touring edition with about 29k miles , and I'm kinda perpetuating what if scenarios in my head regarding how to go about maintaining the engine in the event this rod bearing recall investigation doesnt get finalized and something were to happen in the meantime ie engine failure. I do all the maintenance on the vehicle currently and keep good records , but have heard stories of owners getting stiffed by Honda citing diy mantenance is not reliable and viewed as not... I have a 2005 pilot with the BVGA transmission. The car has always had a hard shift between 1 and 2 when accelerating, but today I took an hour drive on the freeway and while going about 65 mph any time I even touched the gas pedal to maintain my speed it felt like it would downshift really hard, lurch the car and immediately upshift. Anyone know of the best place to get these? I looked at Rock Auto and all they have is the radiator fans. I found one on A1 Auto for $80 but it's plastic (whereas the OEM is a metal frame). Would that matter? Is that how they're making them now? And do you need to pull all of the plastics off (tire well, upper cowlings above the headlights) 😒??? ***Also, is there just a replacement for the fan (I see 3 screws behind the fan that look like it can remove the fan motor)? I just checked Honda Garage & CarFax and there is no indication that the first timing belt job had been done by the Acura dealership I bought it from even though it was 8 years old at the time (but only had 61k miles on it). Also, I don't believe the 2nd owner would have diy done it or had it done before trading it in (why would they right). I had my local Honda dealership do the 1st timing belt job (assumed) in 11/2020 at 105k miles. So at that point the Pilot was 13 years old and... Timing Belt Job Parts NOT Replaced - Issue ?

Hi, I am at my wits end trying to located the low beam location on the 2022 Honda Pilot Special Edition model. My passenger bulb is out and I have been trying to located it or finding a good video that highlights where it is. I have giant hands so feeling around is challenging. Can someone please explain, in layman's terms, what the additional 60 degrees of torque of the crankshaft bolt is all about ??? Any additional tightening of a bolt can certainly be simply expressed in an additional number of ft./lbs. right ? So why do they say torque it to 48 ft./lbs. and then an additional 60 degrees, instead of saying torque it to 50 ft./lbs. (assuming 60 degrees of additional torque equates to 2 ft./lbs.) ???

My 2019 Pilot Elite has had 3 Die Hard AGM batteries in 4 years. The present one is 10 months old and would not start the car. After a battery booster hooked up to start it, I drove to the Advance Auto that sold me the batteries for a load test, The battery passed the load test with over 650CCA. I then plugged into the console power recptacle my voltage meter that gives me real time voltage readings while driving. The voltage would vary from 14.1 volts down to 12.3 volts while driving at... The mileage on my Pilot continues to go down. I am now at about 16 mpg in daily driving and max out at about 22 highway. What steps do I need to take to stabilize or increase mileage. I did put in a Muzzler and I'm sure that accounts for some but not this much.

The red airbag light on my 2005 Pilot is on. I’ve cleaned the driver buckle, unlatched and relatched the yellow connectors under both seats but no help. Two local Honda dealers say I need an appt. a month away to even get a scan. I know there is no seatbelt chime for the passenger, but is there a microswitch in the passenger buckle that might be dirty and causing this?

Last fall i purchased a 2021 Pilot Black Edition and since my wife and I tow a 5000 lb camping trailer i knew i would have to install a transmission cooler since our Pilot did not come with the towing package. I looked on this site and could not find anyone who had done it, due to the fact that the lines to the external warmer/cooler are hard pipe rather than rubber hose, which makes it difficult to find a place to "T" into to run fluid to the auxilary cooler and then back to the... Has anyone put an aftermarket transmission oil cooler on a Piolt with the 9 speed

The passenger side of the center console on my 06 Pilot is warm/hot to the touch, even with climate control off. Seems like there is an electrical smell inside the console. Suggestions? TIA
