Replacing original popup mattress

We are thing about replacing our original popup mattress and just going with a 4" piece of memory foam. We have always used a 2" piece of memory foam over the camper's mattress, but to close up the camper we have to take the memory foam off the bed and roll it up. Well this results in the foam after a coupe years tearing up. So i'm hoping a 4" topper foam will be comfortable enough without using the camper's mattress. What do you all think? Has anybody just went with a 4" MF topper?

gas strut

I have an old viking 1600 I believe it is, I haven't used it in years, I gave it to a friend but he got a bigger travel trailer so its back at my house... I quit using it because it doesn't have the crank or anything to open it, just 4 arms that pop up in place, you have to manually lift the roof one side at a time. My back isn't too happy about that... I have some gas struts that I bought for an rv bed project that I never used. would it be possible to use the struts to assist in lifting... gas strut

Lasagne Roll ups in the dutch oven.

Just a friendly reminder I tend toward low lactose / lactose free cooking for personal reasons, adjust to your own needs. I make mine from canned tomato sauce, Italian seasoning and frozen italian meatballs broken up into the sauce... Kraft Lactose free Mozzarella I think it is a 16 oz bag of shredded cheese. If it wasn't one thing it was another.

It's been said the worst day camping is better than the best day working. Well, we gave that old adage a run for it's money over a long Labor Day weekend. Arriving Thursday afternoon, Mary and I were planning on a quiet weekend. The highlight was to be a visit by my best friend from grade and high school, who I hadn't seen in several years before our recent class reunion and a possible visit by the oldest daughter and her low-maintenance three. The first surprise came when my son-in-law... If it wasn't one thing it was another.

Need storage or ideas; NW Georgia (Cherokee County)

Mirtes has been STRONGLY hinting that she wants a class-A motorhome. sigh Her reasoning is that she can pilot it easier than a trailer if I have a stroke or something. She hasn't considered the overall logistics of a bus. Tire changes, oil changes, storage, etc. Plus they aren't as big on the inside as a trailer. But she found a gently used Tiffin Allegro and, out of the blue, she says to me yesterday, "let's go look at it." So we went up to Blue of Chattanooga. It wasn't horrible but... Do you have a favorite campsite?

We do most of our camping, not only in the same area, but we have a favorite site at each of three different campground. For our Labor Day trip, I was asleep at the wheel at reservation time and wasn't able to get our regular site. Instead, we were in the site next to it. I don't think DW nor I are particulary anal, but both us felt really discombobulated not being in our regular spot. The site we were in is a fine site, level with a nice view. But the angle of the gravel pad was more... Do you have a favorite campsite?

No juice for morning coffee

On the last morning of our recent Labor Day trip I made coffee as I have every morning only to discover I had no power when I plugged in the coffee maker. I have a rudimentary understanding of electricity -- my dad taught me how to change an outlet or light fixture but beyond that I'm pretty much lost. The obvious culprit is a bad outlet, which I can handle. But if that is not the case, what else should I be looking for. The other outlets in the camper were working and no breakers were... Viking Epic 1706: shoreline power works great but battery dies almost instantly from full charge

Hey folks, there are several threads surrounding this type of camper and the battery, but mine *seems like it's specific. I charge my battery fully (proper Marine RV battery less than a year old), and test it (showing 12.84v or so). When plugged into shoreline power water pump and lights work great. When I tested the battery after knowing it was fully charged, (unplugged the shoreline power), those things also worked. In about 4 hours (the drive to the campsite), the battery had... Check your under carriages on TV

Well i heard a loud knocking noise in rear of truck. Turns out my shock mount completely rusted off the frame cross tube. It was banging off the bottom of the bed. I have a guy that builds race car frames cutting out the tube and making new shock mount. I told him if the other was shock was iffy to fab it out also. He going to clean and under coat the whole truck as well. It is hard to keep the under carriages clean and rust free in Nebraska climates. I take pretty good care of my truck but...
