This is an ode to the big old families of yore, where the parents would be sitting in the front of the vehicle and they'd have three kids raising a ruckus while the adults had mature conversations that didn't result in heated arguments and divorce. More civilised times, I guess you could think of them. The guitar used is a Mayones Regius Core 6 that's run directly into a VHT Sig:X amplifier that's connected to an Orange 2x12 cabinet.

I know it sounds insane to write these short snippets of music and then give them names, but rest assured, there's a method to the madness when I start harvesting some of the bits to make Frankenstein songs and stitch still others together. There's a certain kind of serendipity involved when that happens. It's not a haphazard methodology, more like how a serious jigsaw puzzle connoisseur would approach one. This was done using a James Tyler into a Victory Kraken and... Read more
Hi, In my Einstein, I saw a lot of solder joints of the tubes and other areas that look somewhat concerning to me. It looks somewhat "cooked"; are these signs of resoldering with an improper soldering iron or the use of soldering flux? Can anyone please tell me whether there could be a problem with the Einstein and whether I should take it to a tech? I just got it a few weeks back and don't have any information on whether it had professional or non-professional repairs in the past. Thank you... Read more
Bemoaning the fact that my local gear market fuckin sucks, my boy in MN hit me with this. $1000. Hit him with the $, he picked it up for me last week. I left the slant for when I’m in MN and took the straight and head home. Vid: 70s Suntech Standard (LP w/70s Distortions) This thing sounds massive. I have and have had a lot of nice amps. What I’ve kept is a couple Oranges (RV50 OG version/OR15) and a 90s Dual Rec and a Diezel Herbert MKII. This thing can... Read more
Anyone try these?? If im gonna jump into modeling for the first time with some kind of NAM loader into the FX loop of one of my amps, should i grab a couple of these for one of my 2x12'S?? The F12-X200 is a dedicated guitar speaker for amp modelers and IRs. It’s truly a full range driver that delivers a frequency response from 60Hz all the way up to 20kHz. The... Read more
Getting started creating NAM amp captures. I'll post them here as I release them. Each pack will include a couple of free models and a full capture set available on my site. First up: Laney GH100L Laney GH100L , made in UK in 1994, modded with a Friedman-style gain switch. Essentially a JCM800 with a switchable additional tube gain stage - same British midrange, but the Drive switch takes it well past what a stock 800 can do. Slightly darker, more compressed, more... I just opened up my package from Wayne. These things are awesome! Way better than Bit-O-Honeys! I haven't even tried the pedals yet. I'm rolling around on the carpet playing with these things like a fucking toddler.
Hey guys, For the members that never left, I use to be JonL with all the Tool obsession back in the day. So just wanted to say whats up to the elders like me lol! Anyway, I just got into ESP guitars and landed with a B8 STEF. It’s remarkable! I am trying to decide if I should grab ESP SC 6 or the 27 baritone tele 7 SC to run some classic Deftones in drop C. Anyone have experience with both? Also if you have any SC’s lets see them!
So I started the madness for my Diezel Paul Oof! I used a configurator to get a basic idea. I will use the wood plank for testing and troubleshooting and then I'll get the right board with carrying case:
Hello forum, In the past, someone who lives around the corner from me helped me with my Einstein, but I haven't received a reply. Unfortunately, I haven't received a helpful response from BTB or Tubetown either. I read a lot in the past weeks, and I understand a few things about electronics because it interests me a long time, but I have very little experience with tubes. Could someone here please tell me exactly what I should order for the Einstein 100W? Peter Diezel wrote to me saying... Read more
Seems to me that Pot values sometimes act counterintuitively - at least to me. I always think of higher value pots giving me more clarity - yes, but also a lot more punch. Seems to depend on the pickups at play. I have a set of PAF humbuckers I am wondering may not sound better with 300k pots after some experimenting. I have a guitar I installed a set of Humbucker sized P90s in and have been messing with different pot values in differnet positions. I noticed that lower value pots in these... Read more
