Google has confirmed that a limited number of Pixel phones were targeted using a security vulnerability in their cellular modem. The flaw was patched in the September 2026 security update. Samsung Gallery is moving from Microsoft OneDrive to Google Cloud Sync . While some of us may be praising the move, there’s one important limitation to keep in mind. Photos uploaded through Samsung Gallery won’t automatically work with every Google Photos feature. Samsung Gallery photos won’t appear in Memories or Search in Google Photos. Spotted by @saurax04 on X , Google has now published a dedicated support page explaining how Samsung Gallery Cloud Sync works with your Google Account. It confirms that photos and videos synced through Samsung Gallery will be stored in Google Photos . Naturally, it’ll count toward your Google Account storage. Google says photos and videos uploaded using Samsung Gallery Cloud Sync are stored securely in your Google Photos account. You can still view, manage, and share them normally. However, unless those same items are also backed up through the Google Photos app, they won’t appear in features such as Memories and highlights. Live albums and Google Photos Search won’t include them either. That distinction could be easy to miss. You might open Google Photos and see an image that Samsung Gallery uploaded successfully. However, you might then wonder why searching for something in that photo doesn’t bring it up. You may also notice that it never appears in Memories. In other words, Samsung Gallery Cloud Sync uses Google Photos as its cloud destination. However, that doesn’t automatically give every uploaded item the full Google Photos experience.
