So I googled one of them (the Marshak one) and that one's geology, but the Tarbuck one is all 4 topics (maybe our school should buy it and use it every year!) Thanks! fundementals of hydrology by tim davie is what i see a lot of others use? tarbuck is general earth science (or if ur looking at earth, geology), so for dyp only some chapters are useful. idk about marshak sry!

Jordan has a registered tournament dw! For this one I was talking to the person from Maryland who did the original post. Cause a mock scioly tournament might run into problems if it's like not registered. I know what you mean, but I think if you really want to make it free for teams, it should be online. I believe this. (there were a couple tournaments that were free otherwise, but they got insane amounts of funding from their site or sponsors or something) But I also feel like satellite scioly is like in no way representative of what scioly is like

Making a tournament from scratch will be difficult, but I think you will be able to do it, since you're clearly very motivated. Good luck if you do plan to pursue this!

Please please fix results by school! Adams's page was last edited in 2023, and all the tournament results are on Duosmium anyway. It would be nice to have a current record on this site. We should also have a forum by state so we can discuss state things (me not having seen many people from Texas, also there are like 5 state pages currently). Take everything with a grain of salt (I don't know if these ideas are already floating around, and if so, I "upvote" them, due to my new joining.) maybe you could just do an online (because you don't have to arrange transportation, hotels, food, etc) and use them as inspiration I would hazard that an online tournament doesn't really give a good handle to what scioly feels like. My first year competing was the last satellite-only year of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was fun, yeah. But a lot of what made it fun was stuff from the existing team culture from my team (which had been competing for quite a while before the pandemic) to bring people together (e.g. afterschool practice-sessions, awards-ceremony bingos, a little "grand central" at school for satellite comps, etc.) more than the satellite format itself. When I got to compete in a traditional in-person tournament the next year, it was a whole lot more special than any of the online competitions I'd done, and a lot of the fun was baked into the experience. Like, first off, traveling to a new place, getting to see it all with my friends, meeting new cool science people who are interested in the same things. I haven't ever done builds, but testing your builds at a TrIP is a whole lot better than at a satellite too cause it's at a new place and they're testing everyone's stuff and you don't have to say a codeword like "foongus amoongus." huh--interesting idea. well I don't really know about making a tournament but I do know that Jordan high school hosts a tournament that my school attends every year (its online) so maybe you could ask them? but their invite is very large (usually 90-100 teams) so its REALLY hard to medal maybe you could just do an online (because you don't have to arrange transportation, hotels, food, etc) and use them as inspiration

honestly? state was chaos, but the thing it reminds me of is coffee creamers, because my friend downed 8 the day before even after being explicitly warned not to (now shes an officer).
