Looking forward to the coming Grouse & Woodcock season here in Pa.

Gentlemen, Having just acquired a Best Westley Richards side lock double gun I am looking forward to this years Grouse & Woodcock hunting season. Although my 18 year old Ryman Grouse dog moved on up to heaven this May, I still have my fantastic Gordon female Shadow, who is one terrific Grouse dog in her own right. Having owned guns worthy of hunting Gods king of wild birds, ( Grouse ) and his little brother the price ( Woodcock ) it was my honor to acquire another Brit Best hand made... Anyone done any testing of 16 ga loads using Titewad?

As the title says. I never see Titewad listed as a recommended 16 gauge powder, but I know the 16 gauge doesn't benefit from all the research some of the other gauges get. I'm specifically interested in light 7/8 or 3/4 oz loads. Has anyone tried this, and better yet had it tested?

Best day yet, first 50 straight and 98/100 for the day

Been getting feedback from other shooters that I am shooting over targets, so made 1/4 adjustment to the buttpad on my pfs and seems to have worked made it to station 5 on third round without a miss, then missed low 5 twice, then finished clean for the day with another 25. Was clouded over all morning but sun came out and was losing the bird in the sun. Last round changed to sunglasses from my rose color and nonissues

MEC vs Hornady 366 final stage die

I have not called MEC on this yet, but have a question. I's not a big issue for me as I am not shooting a pump or S/A gun, just an O/U, so cycling of the loaded rounds isn't an issue. I also load on a Hornady 366 and the finish die is considerably different on it than it is on the MEC. On my 366, when I get to the last stage, the plastic finishing crimp will put a slight roll/bevel/taper whatever you want to call it on the end of the loaded case. On both machines, when the case comes out... MEC vs Hornady 366 final stage die

Shot the new Teal 28 gauge O/U - Lessons Learned

I took the new CZ Teal 28 gauge over under to the skeet field and I learned that I still suck at shooting shotguns.... I knew this already, I usually only hit 16 to 18. But with the 28 gauge, my suck did not increase with less lead in the air. So I think I proved that I miss by feet, not by inches, so it's not the shell, the choke, or the gun. I was actually hitting better with the top barrel with the Mod choke. Next trip to the range will start with the patterning board. I don't think... Shot the new Teal 28 gauge O/U - Lessons Learned

Covey birds???

What birds are considered to hang out in a "covey". I know quail for sure, beyone that I hear the term quite a bit but don't know what to think. Is it only game birds? Then I suppose there's some difference between a flock and a covey. Apologize for going down this rabbit hole of semantics but these things cross my mind sometimes....

Beretta Ultraleggero

Hi everyone. Im thinking about buying the new beretta ultraleggero. Looking for people’s opinion who own this gun and what they think the recoil is like. I normally use a 32g 6. Not sure if it’s wise to buy a lighter O/U and use it on the occasional driven day at pheasants. Has anyone used it on a driven day firing heavier cartridges through it? If so whats your opinion? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Plating Coming Off

Have any of you experienced the plating coming off the breech face of your Z Sport?? This gun is less then a year old and fewer then 2000 rounds, its my back-up gun. Never been shot in the rain. If you have experienced it how did Zoli handle it?? Shipped to Texas or Italy? Turn around time?? Was the repair successful the first time?? Steve

Where's a good place to buy shotguns online??

I think that a new 825 sporting 20 gauge would be a good fit in my stable. I'd like to see the wood before I buy one. I really only use GB, Indiana Gun Club or Joel Etchen. I really don't care for the "contact us for the price" crap and would prefer to see the price upfront. What sites do you guys recommend for checking out new guns? Thanks.
