Day of Thor, sep 17th coffee

Mornings! Coffee ready, brand Coop, no chickens involved. Sourdough bread with rhubarb jam. 13˚c/55f, rain, 25 mph wind from southwest, not nice, could be worse. No plans so far. Tomorrow we’ll know what happens today. Have a nice and slow one! Stu Vintertun

Slave cylinder rubber seal sizes.

Has anyone messured the rubber seal sizes for the ST1300 Slave cylinder ? Is there another Honda Slave cylinder that shares the same size rubber seals ? Looking to clean and replace the seals without buying a whole complete unit. I'm seeing rubber seals on Aliexpress and Amizon but no sizes OR listings to fit a ST1300. Many other big Honda bikes are listed for these seal kits. I'm thinking a VTX or Goldwing, even the ST1100 must all use the same seals for the Slave cylinder. Thanks for any... Read more

It's Wednesday! How about some coffee? 16 September

Good morning everyone The Cubano roast is ready for you, so come pour yourself a steaming mugful, sit back, relax for a minute, and tell us what's going on in your world. It's 58°F and clear in Rockville, where dawn is still two hours and twenty minutes away. Sunny with a high of 86 is the outlook for the day. I'm up early because I went to bed early and because I woke from a very unsettling dream and didn't want it to resume if I went back to sleep. I've got a late-day golf... Read more

Tie down points

Hi. I have had a problem of going on ferries and having a good tie down area for the front. If I put the strops on the handle bars it knocks of the blinker/mirror. Where do other people use tie downs with out this happening.

Would you be concerned about the condition of this «swingarm» ?

I’ve been riding my -99 Honda ST1100 Pan European ABSII this summer and am very pleased with the bike. The luggage options are excellent, too … it has two genuine side cases with inner bags, plus fold-out cargo hooks on both the left and right sides of the seat. These can be used with a cargo net or, for instance, a 60-liter dry bag A potential buyer has recently shown interest, but he is a bit concerned about rust on the rear swingarm. After riding this summer, I wiped the... Read more

Shifting 1st to 2nd not smooth

When I shift from first to second I feel some feedback in the shifter like it's not engaging right away. I would almost describe it as grinding the gears but not to that extreme. Similar to slowly shifting a boat into gear and you hear the glack, glack, glack of the gear teeth engaging. I'm trying shift quickly and firmly to avoid this and sometimes it seems fine. I see no adjustment for the clutch and I'm pulling it right to the handlebar grip. The slave is rebuilt, bled and seems to... Read more

Tuesday coffee and weather, 15 September

Good morning everyone Try to remember the kind of September When life was slow and oh, so mellow. Try to remember the kind of September When grass was green and grain was yellow. Try to remember the kind of September When you were a tender and callow fellow. Try to remember, and if you remember, Then follow. Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow, Follow, follow, follow, follow. The Cubano is ready for you. Come 'n git it! It's a beautiful early mid-September morning in Rockville... Read more
