Lots of new things on this build. First set neck, first sunburst, first crack at bird inlays with my laser. What next?

We used to be able to buy it in blocks (32 oz, 16 oz, etc.). Now it's either sliced or shredded. WTH?

Saw a few forum threads recently about the wang bars (Bigsby, "synchronized tremolo", and other flavors of the wang bar) and it got me thinking... why would anyone want/need one? How many songs do you absolutely need one of those to play accurately/faithfully? I, for one, can't think of many but... that may be just me. To me it seems like the juice may not be worth the squeeze but, again, benefit of a doubt... Please share your thoughts and... thanks.

I've been an Android guy since I ditched the BlackBerry but I saw a news story about Apple leasing their wares. Klarna sets up the lease and collects the payments and, from what I can tell, the lease term is 12 or 24 months for an Apple 17. According to the news story, you'll end up saving a few hundred dollars or more by leading than by paying the full cost up front for this particular example. That's different!! I'm intrigued but am concerned about moving all of my data and such to a... Read more

Well, I spent thousands of dollars for the set-up I can live with. Did I deserve this? Was it earned? My decision was based on "it meets my needs". I live in a photographers paradise! SW Colorado. I have bout all wildlife ya can think of roaming the area. All farm/ranch land. I am next to Navajo Lake State Park. A 20+ mile lake. It is also pitch black without a moon at night. And I have unreal views from the house. So I came home with a Sony Alpha 7RV Mirrorless camera body, Sony FE 14mm... Read more

I laid out my signal chain (including a few of my guitars), explained what I'm into, and asked for thoughts and recs on my pedal board. There was a bit of the usual flattery (I mean, I huff the finest GAS at TDPRI), but I was asvised that, for my tastes and amp, I might simply..... 1. stack a different dirt type (apparently a klone could add that missing mid-hump- je-[ne]-sais quoi ) and 2. put my EQ before my delay and reverb. It also recommended positions for every knob on every... Read more

Football is back! The Pack blew a big lead to the Carson Wentz-led Minnesota Vikings. Kyler Murray threw a horrible INT seconds into the contest and was knocked out of the game shortly afterwards. Green Bay scored 22 points in the first three quarters; the Vikes scored 22 points in the 4th alone, and won by 17. The Saints mounted a comeback, took it to OT, rolled the dice and went for the win after scoring a TD. Crapped out! As a New Orleans fan, I was good with the decision to go for... Read more

Too much used for sale, etc? I see stuff on reverb @ 95% or MORE than a new price, with inflated shipping, even when so many places offer shipping for free. It seems quality gear is always in demand. Now selling a commonplace guitar I guess is another story. What's everyone else experiencing? ...because I have a PILE of stuff to sell, lots of it recording stuff

When my ex and I lived in Raleigh, we found out that a YWCA was just a few minutes from our respective offices so we hopped on over during lunch one day to sign up. Our plan was to work out at lunch time. Imagine our surprise when we entered and found a full fledged Greek restaurant inside! It was called Grecian Corners and I have no idea why it was there but man was the food good! Working out ended up taking a back seat to stuffed grape leaves and flaming cheese. My mouth still hasn't... Read more

My all time favorite amp is a tweed Bassman. The LTD 4x10 sounds pretty dang good to me, esp with a Rat. But, yeah… weight/size… no longer an option. Not to mention volume. Is there any “off-the-shelf” 1x12 combo of that circuit out there anywhere, without having to buy a donor tweed Bassman and get a custom cabinet?

I never wanted to sound like EVH. But I did want to sound like this guy...and so did every other guitar player in my neighborhood. And notice-just a 4-piece band!
