My mf5620 will not allow the hydraulic arms to drop. Any one know what I can do to solve this please? Never happened before. I did have to crack open the hydraulic lines on the loader to get it to reattach, but can't see why this is relavent?
What sort of stuff are people taking for food bank donation on Tuesday? Got minced beef and leeks, but think they are too perishable and won't be wanted.
An East Yorkshire pig owner has been given a decade-long ban and a six-month curfew after animals were kept in pens cluttered with old appliances and building waste. David Britton, 60, from Airmyn, was sentenced at Hull Magistrates' Court on 14 September following a prosecution by East Riding of Yorkshire Council. He'd pleaded guilty in July to keeping pigs in an unsuitable environment. The case began in May 2023 after a member of the public reported concerns about... Read more
Is it true that some of the gangs of hare coursers , that drive across farmland at night, smashing through closed gates as they go, are involved with betting syndicates in foreign countries? If so how on earth do they film the dog/s chasing hares at night in the dark and what are the betting gangs actually betting on as regards hare coursing? I ask as last night a gang smashed through five wooden gates and one metal one on the farm where my wife works. They drove all over the place , the... Read more

Chickweed seems to be everywhere this autumn - I don't think I've ever seen so much of it. Every field we've sown green crop after stubbles is plastered with the stuff. It's like a carpet. I know it's too late for this season but when planting kale and rape might it be better to broadcast and roll as opposed to lightly drill and roll. Thoughts?
The CLA is pressing John Healey ahead of the October Budget to scrap APR and BPR changes that are stalling farm investment and growth. The CLA is preparing its submission for the 28 October Budget, pushing new Chancellor John Healey to reverse inheritance tax changes it says are throttling investment across family farms and rural businesses. Healey replaced Rachel Reeves over the summer as part of Prime Minister Andy Burnham's reshuffle. But it's Reeves' 2024 Autumn... Read more
Alternators not charging on our kobelco sk80msr. Have battery voltage on positive and negative 24.8v and cleaned all connections. Have same voltage on ignition wire and have continuity to charge lamp on dash. Put a new Alternator on thinking it would be that, but still not charging. Ran a wire from the battery to the ignition terminal and still nothing. What else could it be?

Astonishing creatures*, remarkable example of convergent evolution and... I've never yet knowingly seen one. I have done some research and they should be around here, indeed they have been seen a few miles away; we are within their current range, we have a huge amount of flowers of all types in bloom, yet nothing... So, in the interests of science and curiosity - and hope ! - I'll be very grateful to all who report sightings with approximate date and location. If there are enough to make... Read more
Our current farm plastics recycler is proposing to increase their prices by nearly 50% for the coming year, and whilst their collections are convenient I keen to not be paying over £700pa for the pleasure! I doubt the quantity of what we send would fit in £700 worth of skips, and I don't want to entertain the Nov 5th suggestions. I read on here some use Biffa -before I call them would someone tell me which 'service' they register for as it doesn't appear that we fall neatly in to there... Read more
