We had a lot of downed trees over horse fences after a bad storm recently. A friend came over with his compact tractor with a grappler. Two of us cutting limbs could barely keep up with that grappler! Made me start to consider getting one for my L2501. Looking for advice on brands and anything else to consider before purchasing.

70-year-old marina owner, union electrician, machinist and experanced welder. Worked for a large refinery for 30 years before taking on this marina as a retirement project. Work harder now than I ever did. Haha. I have several John Deere products, like an old 1999 4200 collar shift, 333 forester skid steer among others.

Does anyone know what the control is on the hump of the jd 655, 755 & 855 does?

It's big, it's water filled, and probably 800 lbs. If I take it off myself (I can do that), tire shop will charge hundreds of bucks to dismount the tire and replace or repair the tube. So; what to do? Hint; I found a way... Taking it off for another job earlier;

I own, operate and maintain a 1994 Riviera 3300 fishing boat. It is powered by two 210 hp 6BT5.9M Cummins diesel engines. I am on the west coast of the US. My engines and their equipment are very similar to many tractor applications and I hope I can get some input on good practices.

A while back there was a good thread on recliners. My wife absolutely needs a new chair, hopefully recliner. BUT, it can't be smelly / toxic. She read about Green Guard products, so we head to town and stopped at a Lazy Boy store and they had no clue. I remember the thread about people ordering, getting the chair they wanted. Anyone run across such a thing in their search or could offer me guidance?

The front stairs and small deck on my cabin need to be replaced. They are 15 years old. They are made of treated lumber and have not aged well. I've had to replace the treads of the stairs twice in that amount of time. It has had opaque oil based stain on it from the beginning. The treads bow and twist and snap the screws off. Just curious. Did you: Buy it from a national retailer like Amazon or WalMart? Buy it from a dealer for a "national" brand like Rippa or Typhon? Buy it in person from an importer? Buy it online from an importer? Buy it in a private sale? Buy at an auction? Import direct from China? Question 2: On a scale of 1-10, how happy were you with the purchase process and any follow-up? The hood strut on my Kubota M8540 is shot. Messicks has it for ~$180. I've replaced these on our Durango for much much less. Possible to find an aftermarket version?

I have a 2014 Kubota B2620 which I bought new when I retired to a 40 acre wooded property in Missouri. It has been invaluable in maintaining the property as you all can attest to. One thing I am not familiar with is how engine horsepower compares to PTO hp. I ask because I'm considering buying a PTO powered woodchipper. There are no hydraulics to the rear of the machine. Also, why is 540rpm a magic number for the PTO and is that engine rpm or PTO shaft rpm? And how can I measure that? Thanks.

Sort of a forerunner to the HF stores. Chas. Homeier was one, but there was at least one more that I can't remember the name of. They'd put signs up all over when they came to town. They'd set up in K of C , Rotary Club or other Civic Center type halls that rented space. Sometimes just in big tents.
