As many of you know, I just got back into riding after having a heart attack last year. The weather has finally cooled a bit in my area of Pennsylvania, and I have been enjoying the rides lately. Last week, while riding I watched in slow motion as a BEE came over the top of my windshield, underneath the visor of my full faced helmet and landed up stinging my right eyelid! I don't hardly remember how I got my bike stopped, BUT I DO remember pulling that BEE from my right eyelid! I had to call my wife Jean to come get me, and my neighbor had to ride my bike home. Normally, I would post one or two gruesome pics of my eye popping out of my head! But Jean suggested just describing the event would be enough. She always was a big sissy! LOL!! So today's Safety Message is "BEE Careful Out There! Earl.

Over a period of weeks earlier this summer a loud drone/rumble noise started on top of engine area during acceleration and highway speed. Short version, removed top and side covers before taking it on the highway. Trial and error, pushed down hard on the filter box cover and noise stopped. Found one of the clamps rear left side holding the rubber boot air feed from the air filter box was slightly loose and covered in oil. Removed air filter box and boot assembly, cleaned all oil residue and replaced saturated DIY oil absorbing piece of foam. When re-assembling there are 2 feeder tubes one I think is a crankcase breather is a pia and there is a second breather hose bottom left side easy connect. side note.. started troubleshooting by checking all 4 carb diaphram/piston assemblies. A couple had pin holes. Ordered 4 diaphram/piston/needle assemblies thru Amazon 🫰 🫰 . Delivery quoted as 4 weeks from China. Received parcel in 10 days. The 4 replacements where mint. One subtle difference was the piston material. The original looks like plastic and the new looks like aluminum? Not sure if aluminum would cause issues down the road but after a few hundred miles the 87' runs as good as ever. (diaphram assembly order info pm'd if needed)

Haven't had a chance lately but was wondering if anyone would like to meet up this Saturday or Monday(Ben{Saddlebum}available these days) for coffee & ice-cream in Paris Ontario or other preference? Am leaving to go to Alberta on the 20th--till 27th so if this date doesn't work we could meet up after that week! Wood have done earlier but temperatures and gas prices got in the way!

Hello Friends. Patricia got started out we as we made it to Cherokee NC on the first evening, going through the Tail of the Dragon of course. Then made it to Banner Elk NC by going up part of the Blue Ridge. We had planned to stay 2 nights in Banner Elk, but liked the area so well we stayed for 4 nights. Then came back to Pigeon Forge for 4 nights. Our original plans changed mainly because I am having some serious pain in my left hip. I saw an Orthoptic surgeon a couple of weeks ago for an injection in my hip for an ongoing problem. When the X-ray showed that the hip had gone to bone on bone, I knew it is time for a hip replacement. HOWEVER, since I had a heart attack in March, my Cardiologist said I really needed to wait a year before I could go off a blood thinner for the surgery. I really wanted to make the trip again before the hip got too bad, but it wasn't meant to be. So, if the surgery goes well, there is always next summer. We are having a blast in the Smoky Mountains making short trips through the mountains and have seen several wild animals including one black bear. And I swear I was not the person streaking across the stage in the Comedy Barn last night!!! Life is full of surprises now. Steve.

I would like to say that it has been a great trip through life with Celia my wife of 53 years. Happy Anniversary honey and many, many more.

Trish and I are heading out tomorrow morning to Cherokee NC to get on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We have done this run a few times, but it's the first trip on our Goldwing Trike. I sure do miss riding the Venture, but I am looking forward to some long trips on the trike. We had planned on going to Yellowstone this week, but the forest fires in the west concerned us about the air quality out there. We canceled a trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for the same reason. The reports of heavy smoke and pollution from Canada fires prevented that as well. I hope our friends up north are doing well with the air quality up there. Steve.

I have a practically brand new one, still in the original Yamaha box if interested. Will sell cheap, shoot me a message. I only had it on about a month and decided to go with the Utopian backrest which I had on my 2003 Venture as well.

Please keep Woody and his wife in your prayers. I just got a text from Eck about an accident at the Ashville meet. I have limited information at this time but from what I’m told they were on a ride when they rolled their Goldwing trike. I’m told that Woody is in ICU. I’m told his wife Katrina has a broken neck and a broken back as well as a dislocated wrist. They are getting limited information at this time due to family not being notified yet. So if you are a prayerful person, please offer one up for both of them.

LOL. @Freebird This is like the 4th story like this that I have seen in about 2 weeks. Police in Parker, Colorado released footage of a traffic stop involving a Tesla driver who offered an unusual explanation for a speeding citation. I am the "wife" of Moped who still has our 99 RSV. The bike is in really good shape. I believe it has 80,000 miles on it and we have never had any problems with it. I guess the problem is, he has made no effort to sell it. It has been just sitting in the garage taking up space for two years. Is there a clever way to strongly encourage him to sell it. I actually know how he is feeling about it. We both love the RSV. It has been a wonderful bike for us, but we no longer ride it. I do not bring the subject up but I think the riding season would be the best time to sell. I guess I just do not want to be annoying about it, but then again I sure would like to sell it so that we have more room in the garage. Any suggestions. Yama Mama

Not motorcycle related unless you keep your bike under surveillance, which I do or did until I updated our internet to spectrum and now my wireless cameras will not connect. I have done a lot of research and found that most wireless cameras work on 2.4 ghz and my new wifi is 5 ghz. Now I figured out that I can temporarily turn my router to 2.4 and it will work on somethings, like the garage door opener but I have yet to get the wireless cameras to work on either frequency, all my wired cameras work as before but they go through a nvr that is hard wired to the router. Thanks for letting me vent and hopefully this will help someone else. ps. I am using a night owl system not promoting them just saying.
