UK based owners

Are there many british XJ Owners and if so, is there a UK meet/rally at all?

Gas tank emblem placement

I just had my gas tank painted on my 1982 XJ750 Maxim and have new Yamaha emblems to place on the tank sides. I would like to stick them in the correct position, but I have no reference to where they should go. Please don't tell me to stick them anywhere. I want the same position that came from the factory. Can anyone send me the measurements of where the Yamaha emblems should go? Thank you!

The Beast

This is what happens when you cross a yb100, fj 600, fzr600, a buell and dome madness. Basically a cradle was created from the fj600 frame and bolt it to the monoque 100 frame. The frame is really handy the running wires and hiding electrical and cables Engine was mounted with aluminum spacers/mounts to add strength to chassis. Some notching was required around rear of engine but otherwise a simple fit. It's an incredibly light, fun, stable platform and just a blast to rip around on.... The Beast

81 XJ650, 3 years of chasing a fuel delivery problem

Alright, so, I made a forum post maybe a few months ago with a semi detailed history of my bike and it's persistent issues, but have been unable to solve them. That being said, I am going to attempt to write up everything I have done and tried to do with such detail (or at least attempt to) that hopefully someone can just go "Ah, you forgot this, dummy!" Back in late 2023, I bought the bike in non-running condition, gas was left in the tank and carbs for a year or two which turned into that... 81 XJ650, 3 years of chasing a fuel delivery problem

Clutch noise

Is this the pull out bearing? That’s what I’m guessing. Have a listen: https://youtube.com/shorts/oV3ubh7ZGWw?si=3INzTnssqlVEXFrF

KLR650

it was beyond time for the initial valve check on my 2015 KLR daily rider - 25,000 kms. I found both exhaust valves tight. Unfortunately camshaft removal is part of the process to change shims. Fortunately the shims are the same as our XJ's. Unfortunately my salvaged XJ shim collection starts at 265. I need 2 x 255's. View attachment 41429 View attachment 41430

1992 XJ550j, Not Idling and Reving High When Choaked

Hello everyone, I just purchased a non-running XJ550j. The seller assured me that all it needed was a battery, but what can you do. I can somewhat get it to start but soon after it'll die if I don't give it continuous throttle. Another issue it’s having is if I have the choak on it’ll rev up to around 6000 RPMs. So far, I’ve checked all the spark plugs and they are all getting spark and aren’t fouled. After I moved on to the carburetor and everything in it looked brand new. I checked all... 1992 XJ550j, Not Idling and Reving High When Choaked
