I will dig around and find the name of the guy, if possible. He's based here, so hopefully it won't be that difficult to come across. Thanks!

Hi Andy, To post a graphic like that, which I have now also seen, it would be good to give attribution to where you copied that from. They obviously put a lot of work into it and deserve the credit for that. Well, if I knew I would wouldn’t I. It’s been posted many times over the years in different places so I have no idea who originally did it.

That does sound like a fantastic trip. Thanks for sharing!
6 (50cl) bottles of Andresen 10YO White and 2 of Andresen 40YO White to replace stocks drunk over the summer. I took a bottle of the 10YO with me on vacation to Sicily and shared it with a few of the sommeliers we met. They were really interested and, in turn, shared some really interesting stuff with us.
What’s the news from the Valley on the amount of grapes grown and unsold? Are we hearing stories of grape farmers with no-one wanting to buy their grapes?
Looks completely false. I'd like to look at the bottle closely but the stenciling is all wrong and the capsule incorrect.
That's really awesome! Gotta love it when you get a case that's still in its original packing.
Great pictures, and sounds like a really wonderful trip!
Top 2016 Vintage Ports Including 100-Point Taylor's "There is no doubting the quality of these nascent 2016s ... Why not treat yourself to a case or two?" - Neal Martin, Vinous.com Made only in the finest years and capable of drinking windows that quite literally span a lifetime, Vintage Port is a special wine that is in a class of its own. Devotees know the most esteemed Port houses (or "shippers") see their vintage-dated releases as the apogee of their portfolio. Many pieces need to be in place for a Vintage Port to be released, starting with a strict selection process in the months following the harvest. Wines are initially blended from the best grapes of each house's top vineyards, and following fermentation and fortification, only the finest lots are selected and left to age for roughly two years before bottling. During that time, the wines are repeatedly assessed for their development and future potential before a final decision is made whether to "declare" the vintage. For any declaration to be made, the Vintage Port must be truly outstanding: formidable in its youth, with tremendous depth and structure capable of evolving in bottle for decades. Vintage Port is renowned for its longevity, and truly great declarations remain relatively rare. Vintages such as 1927, 1945, 1963, 1970 and 1977 have become legendary, while more recent benchmarks like 1994 and 2000 continue to demonstrate just how slowly the finest Ports can evolve. The 2016 vintage deserves a place in that c
This was just a great trip all around. I had three friends who had not been there previously, so I had a chance to visit some lodges I hadn’t been to for a while- we had flights at Noval, Graham’s (stayed for dinner at Vinum) and Calum in addition to the tasting in Jonny’s private cellar at Churchill’s (I had done this tasting before- but the selection was completely different the second time. I had the privilege of being Raunak’s first customer for this tasting, as well as his last, as he had some family issues to sort and was heading home for an indeterminate period of time. He will definitely be missed at Churchill’s- super knowledgeable and thoughtful in his ability to find Porto’s in their catalogue that you would enjoy.) We also did a tasting of some smaller houses at Lado (literally in the alley behind Pestana Vintage, a few feet away from Postigo do Carvao). Miguel is also very knowledgeable and can direct you towards some smaller houses based upon your likes and dislikes. For me the highlight was spending the day with Ricardo Nunes at Quinta da Gricha. It was wonderful to be able to see the vineyard in action, tread on some grapes, and get all of my questions answered. Apparently, you can stay at the lodge on the property, which they had recently renovated to a very high standard. Absolutely gorgeous, and the next time I can visit with Donna, will likely be a stop for us. As for wine purchases; I picked up several bottles of the Quinta da Gricha 2005 as well as a sma
Great pics, Andrew! That tasting line up looks great, especially that 40 y.o. Tawny. Did you buy any Port to ship back while you were there?
